August 23rd was the birthday of the city where I grew up - Kharkiv. I found some pictures to share to tell you a little bit about the day.
I had a lovely morning of experiments last week but could not leave backgrounds alone and ended up with three portraits of one of my plants. Its name is Spot and it is a rattlesnake Calathea.
A friend’s new watercolors. My new paint sticks. All in one afternoon of playing with the materials. Some notes on what color and technique combinations worked for me. A perfect way to almost close my travel sketchbook.
Thanks for reading, and thanks for looking!
Nina
