Summer is a quality of light to me! And when I lived in a different hemisphere for a few years, the light seemed seasonally inverted to me. I found it disorienting.
Summer for me always meant the end of school and days running wild with my siblings around the trailer park we summered at, splashing in a giant pool new friends every week. Now it means sitting under the shade of big beautiful trees in one of the many parks around where I live surrounded by a random selection of art supplies I take out with me.
Summer to me means wearing colorful clothes, whose texture is light and you don't feel hot wearing them, drinking lots of cold drinks, and this year, summer will be when I complete my application for an Austrian university, so that I can start my studies there in October.
