This week I attempted to draw a 100 people and a 1000 flowers.
Survey at the bottom - please answer!
I never know if the orchid is real or fake. But these were real.
I drew around 100 people this week. It was fun! A lot of people did it with me.
Magnolia trees are blooming all around my neighborhood. It means I carry lots of different pinks and grays in my sketch bag. I went to paint with a friend -
- and we found two different kinds of trees to try and tackle!
I am considering making a paid subscription tier here on Substack and below is a little survey to see what people might be interested in.
This weekly round-up will always be free. The paid tier is to open up documentation of my process to people who are interested in it and possibly want to have a conversation - without opening it up to the whole world.
Video of a sketchbook flip-through with commentary? I would talk about the materials I used, the places where I was, and the challenges I faced in those books. I am on book number 155 right now - not all of them are interesting but some are :)
I enjoy experimenting with all sorts of new materials and techniques. An idea here is to make a video of an experiment - where I try some things while making image and make comments about what is working and what does not.
30-minute interactive session (with a video available later to view). Once a month I pick something to sketch, or a technique to try or tool to fix, I send my idea and directions how to join me out to people who subscribed and we spend about 20-30 minutes working on it and then 5-10 minutes sharing results and talking about it.
Of course, if you cannot choose between these three or have a particular request or thought - just drop me a line.
What do you think?
Thanks for reading, and thanks for looking!
Nina
p.s. This weekly message is always free and is a summary of things I sketched and blogged during the week. If you are not a subscriber - below is a link to become one.
